Privacy Policy
Short version: we keep what you give us, we don't sell it, and we don't track anything we don't need to deliver the product.
What we collect
When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed copy of your password (or, if you sign in with Google, an account identifier from Google).
When you subscribe, our payment processor Stripe collects and stores your billing information directly. We never see your card number — we only receive a customer reference from Stripe.
When you upload class materials to your knowledge base, the files are stored in your own private space on our servers. No one outside of you can read them.
When you chat with the desktop app, the question text and any screenshots you send are forwarded to the AI provider you've selected (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google) and the response is returned. We do not retain a copy of the conversation after the session ends.
What we don't collect
We do not record your screen, your webcam, or your microphone. The desktop app has no access to any of those by design.
We do not log which exam you are taking, which questions you ask, or any identifying information about your school or course beyond what you yourself upload.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers. The product is paid for by subscription, not advertising.
Who can see your data
Your account email is visible only to you and to our support team if you contact us.
Your uploaded class materials are encrypted at rest and tied to your account. Row-level database policies ensure that no other user — and no employee browsing the database casually — can read them.
Stripe handles your payment information under their own privacy policy, which is available at stripe.com/privacy.
Supabase hosts our database and authentication. Their privacy policy is at supabase.com/privacy.
When you query an AI model, your question and any context are sent to that model's provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google AI). Each has its own privacy policy that applies to API-call data.
How long we keep it
Your account and uploaded materials are kept for as long as you have an account.
Chat sessions are not retained after the desktop app session ends.
Payment records are retained as long as required by tax law (typically seven years).
If you delete your account, all of the above is permanently removed within thirty days.
Your rights
You can request a copy of all data we hold about you. Email support@lockdownify.app and we will send it within thirty days.
You can delete your account at any time from the dashboard or by emailing support.
If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, California, or another jurisdiction with data-protection laws, those laws apply to your data and we honor every right they grant you.
Cookies
We use cookies only for what's strictly necessary to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Children
Lockdownify is intended for users sixteen years old and over. We do not knowingly collect data from younger users.

Changes to this policy
If we make a meaningful change, we will email every active user before the change takes effect. The version date below is the only authoritative indicator of which policy applies.
